Last year Scott County High School participated in a peanut butter drive for the Northwest Christian Haiti Mission. You can follow up on their ministries and any updates on their website. Last year we were able to collect 500 jars of peanut butter to send down to the people of Haiti. However, with the earthquake that has hit recently we feel it is even more important to raise more than last year. This year our goal is 3 million jars for the 3 million people that live there. Many people in Haiti do not have refrigeration units in their homes and peanut butter is an excellent source of protein that does not need to be refrigerated and will keep for an extended amount of time. Final Week

So we are entering the final week of the peanut butter drive. Even after getting turned down by company after company, many students held strong and continued to push to raise as much peanut butter as possible. While I am not sure of the final numbers just yet, I can tell you that even without a coporate sponsorship or a big name celebrity stepping up to the cause, we have been able to raise over 10,000 jars of peanut butter so far to send down to Haiti. How exciting is that! So many people all over Ketucky and surronding states have helped us and many local businesses have stepped up to the plate and help us raise for such a great cause and we thank you for that!

As we are entering our final week we are looking forward to seeing even more peanut butter come through the doors than ever before. If you would like to donate see our paypal link on the left side of the screen. Thank you for your support and as the week progresses we will give you an update of where we are at! Over the weekend we will get an accurate count and tell you exactly how many jars we have been able to raise! Have a great day and rest of the week!
